About the Pastor

Welcome to our website! My name is Vince Maltempi, and I am the Pastor of Fairhaven Church of Rootstown. I have been in the ministry since 2005, and here at Fairhaven since 2018. In my years in the ministry, I have served as a Youth Pastor, an Associate Pastor, and as a Bible study teacher. I am a lifelong learner and recently finished my Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Formation from the Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. I received my Master’s in Theological Studies from Malone University’s Graduate School of Theology. I also have my Master’s in Public Administration and BAs in Spanish Literature and Political Science from Kent State University. I attended Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron.

My wife Laurie and I met at Kent State as freshmen and have been married since 1998. We currently live in Rootstown. I grew up in the Little Italy section of North Hill in Akron and in Tallmadge, and I am a 1st generation American citizen born to immigrant parents. My wife is 4th generation Rootstown Rover. We have four children: Sally, CJ, Dale, and Luci. We also have a beagle named Marci, a toy poodle named Peppermint Patty, a cat named Nyan, and a tortoise named Rerun
